Updates and News for December of 2004

New requests, a new MIDI, some new soundtracks. Got a decent bit o' stuff for today's update, so let's get started...

First of all, I've added three new requests to the Sonic MIDI Request List: Egg Fleet Zone (Sonic Heroes), Special Stage #2 (Sonic Heroes), and Arena: Battle Highway (Sonic Battle). Next, I added The Very Best of SEGA to my list of Sonic music sources. From OneUp Studios, this CD contains some very impressive arrangements of songs from various SEGA titles such as Phantasy Star III, Sonic & Knuckles, NiGHTS, and Streets of Rage 2. You should definitely check out this CD if you're a fan of SEGA music ranging from the Genesis to the Dreamcast.

Anyway, up next I've got a new MIDI for you guys. This one is from LET THE WINDS BLOW: Phantasy Star Online ep.III C.A.R.D. Revolution OST - SIDE-B: ARKZ. 15. Scenario : Navigation. I honestly didn't plan on sequencing this song just yet, but the other night when I was sifting through my soundtrack collection, I happened across this song and thought to myself it might be fun to work on a MIDI of it. A few hours later I was done, and well, here we are. There are a few things from the original I had to leave out, mostly just sound effects that I couldn't recreate in MIDI at all or as well as I would've liked. I think it sounds fine without 'em, though.

Up next on my list of updates is the music store. I've just got two new CDs added to the product line-up, SEGA Saturn History First Volume and SEGA Saturn History Second Volume. Each two-disc set compiles a number of songs from various SEGA Saturn titles throughout the system's history.

And finally, I've made a few additions to the F.A.Q.s. The section now contains more information on various formatting styles I use on this site in the MIDI sections, as well as tidbits pertaining to editing posts at the message board and account alterations. I'm gonna try to make some more additions to this section shortly. There're actually quite a few more Q&As I'd like to add, but I always seem to forget to write 'em down when I'm thinkin' about 'em, and by the time I've actually got an opportunity to add 'em to the F.A.Q.s, I've forgotten what they were. I'll have to break myself of that.

Well, I guess that's it for today's update. I hope you guys enjoy the new MIDI!

Just a few things in this update, as I've gotta get ready for work soon. First of all, three new requests have been added to the request list: ZONE6-1: Gigantic Angel (Sonic Pocket Adventure), Boss #4 (Sonic Adventure 2), and Chao Karate (Sonic Adventure 2 Battle). Alas, I haven't been able to remove any requests from the list, as I haven't been able to finish any new Sonic MIDIs yet. But, I do have one new MIDI for you guys today. I'm proud to present my very first MIDI from SonicTeam's first Nintendo DS game, Feel the Magic: XY/XX -- Magic Touch. Despite being an incredibly simple song, this has become my favorite theme from the game. And it's just so appropriate for the part of the game where it's used. I won't say anything further as I'd rather not spoil anything for those who are currently or plan on playing this game. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Anyway, I guess that's it for this upda-- No, wait. Almost forgot. One more thing. I've opened up the Feel the Magic Music Credits section to go along with the MIDI archive. Fairly simple info in there at the moment, but perhaps that will change once the OST for this game has been released. (Incidentally, it was announced at the Japanese launch of this game earlier this week that an OST will indeed be released. No date yet, but I'll have more info on that once it comes up.)

OK. I think that covers everything for now. So, I hope you guys enjoy the new MIDI!
